This Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy explains how OPES AI LTD collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit the Opes website, join the waitlist, or otherwise interact with us through the website.
This policy applies to the website and pre-launch waitlist only. It does not apply to the Opes app. Separate app terms and app privacy information will apply when the Opes app is released.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, OPES AI LTD is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains:
• what personal data we collect through the website;
• how and why we use it;
• the legal bases we rely on;
• who we share it with;
• how long we keep it;
• your rights;
• how we use cookies and similar technologies.
3. Personal data we collect
We may collect and use the following categories of personal data:
A. Information you provide directly
• your email address when you join the waitlist;
• any information you choose to include if you contact us.
B. Technical information collected automatically
When you visit the website, we and our hosting or security providers may automatically collect limited technical data such as:
• IP address;
• browser type and version;
• device type;
• pages viewed and timestamps;
• basic server and security logs;
• cookie or similar technology data, where applicable.
4. How we use your personal data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
A. To operate and secure the website
We use technical data to run the website, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance. Legal basis: legitimate interests, namely running and securing our website and services.
B. To manage the waitlist
If you submit your email address, we use it to add you to the Opes waitlist and manage pre-launch interest. Legal basis: legitimate interests, namely managing pre-launch interest and responding to requests to join the waitlist.
C. To send launch-related communications you asked for
If you join the waitlist, we may use your email address to send you launch-related emails, such as confirmation of your waitlist sign-up and an email when the app becomes available. Legal basis: legitimate interests, namely responding to your request to hear about the launch of Opes.
D. To send broader product news or marketing updates
We will only send broader promotional or marketing emails, such as newsletters or product updates beyond the launch notification, where we have an appropriate legal basis to do so. Where required, this will be your consent. Legal basis: consent, where required by law.
E. To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We may use personal data where necessary to comply with legal or regulatory obligations, handle claims, and protect our business. Legal basis: legal obligation, or legitimate interests where appropriate.
5. Marketing emails and waitlist communications
If you provide your email address to join the waitlist, we may contact you about your waitlist status and the launch of Opes. We do not intend this waitlist sign-up, by itself, to mean consent to receive all future marketing. If we want to send broader promotional emails or regular updates beyond what you specifically asked for, we should ask separately where required.
You can ask us to stop using your email for waitlist or launch communications at any time by contacting us at info@opes-app.com or by using the unsubscribe option in the relevant email, where available.
6. Who we share your personal data with
We may share personal data with trusted third parties where necessary for the purposes described above, such as:
• website hosting and infrastructure providers;
• email delivery or waitlist management providers;
• IT, security and support providers;
• professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants or auditors;
• regulators, courts, law enforcement or public authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data collected through the website.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we will take steps to ensure that it is protected appropriately under applicable data protection law. This may include relying on an adequacy regulation or using approved contractual safeguards where required. ICO guidance explains that restricted transfers outside the UK need appropriate protection.
8. How long we keep personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. For waitlist email addresses, our current approach is:
• we keep your email address while the waitlist is active;
• we may keep it after launch to manage launch communications and related records;
• we may delete it sooner if you ask us to do so or unsubscribe;
• we may keep it longer where necessary for legal, regulatory or evidential purposes. If Opes does not launch within a reasonable period, we may delete waitlist data earlier.
9. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies can also be used to store or access information on your device. ICO guidance says you must clearly explain cookies and, for non-essential cookies, get consent before setting them. Strictly necessary cookies are the main exemption.
10.1 Cookies we currently use
At the date of this policy, we only intend to use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies required for:
• website security;
• basic website functionality;
• load balancing;
• remembering essential technical preferences where needed to provide the service you requested. These cookies do not require consent where they are strictly necessary, but we still describe them here for transparency.
10.2 Non-essential cookies
We do not intend to set non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking cookies unless and until:
• we clearly tell you about them; and
• we obtain any consent required by law before they are set. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, provide a cookie choice tool or banner.
10.3 Managing cookies
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works. If we later introduce non-essential cookies, we will also provide appropriate controls to accept or reject them where required.
11. Your data protection rights
Under applicable data protection law, you may have the right to:
• request access to your personal data;
• request correction of inaccurate personal data;
• request deletion of your personal data;
• request restriction of processing;
• object to processing based on legitimate interests;
• request portability of personal data, where applicable;
• withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to that processing. ICO guidance says this right should be brought clearly to people’s attention.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your personal data has been handled unlawfully. ICO guidance identifies this as part of the privacy information individuals should receive.
12. Third-party websites
The website may contain links to third-party websites or services. If you follow those links, those third parties will have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version published on the website will apply. If we make material changes, we will take appropriate steps to bring them to users’ attention where required.
